Getting Started

Finding people for your group

"Would you like to discover for yourself what God is like and how he wants you to live?"

"Most people like making these discoveries with a group of their friends. Who could you invite to your home?"

Facilitating the Discussion

NOTE 1: NO TEACHING OR EXPLAINING.

Ask questions; let people find answers in the Bible.

How do I know when I am teaching or explaining in a Discovery Group?

NOTE 2: NO BRINGING IN OTHER PASSAGES.

Those not familiar with the Bible will feel uncomfortable if people bounce around the Bible. Focus on the one central truth in the passage.

Use the question, “How do you get that from this passage?” as a segue back to the passage when group members express opinions or try to bring in other passages.
